FREE drop-in Workshop: Painting and drawing with colours, light, and shadows.
Artist Kate Hardy will lead a morning of film and moving image based art for children. Painting from silhouettes and projecting coloured patterns, we’ll explore images made by light and shade.
An adult must accompany all children attending.
Workshop is part of Chisenhale Dance Space’s Film Festival from 20th-23rd March 2014.
From March through May 2014, Tessa Whitehead will work in Studio4 to create a body of work with cement, a new medium in her practice. Tessa spent much of 2013 apprenticing with her father, a builder/carpenter, learning how to work with cement; their process was to excavate sand/dirt to use as a mould for the cement form. Excited by the ambitious sculptures she then produced, Tessa will now spend the residency exploring the process in a studio environment. Tessa is particularly interested in creating quick or make-shift moulds, which can barely contain the cement…and will be sharing the process along the way.
