The entire Chisenhale Art Place is taking part in Fun Palaces on the weekend of 4 & 5 October 2014. All activities are free, so do come and join us.

Saturday 4th Oct

11am – 2pm:  VEGETABLE PRINTING
Join Kate Hardy for some whacky printmaking…using vegetables! Suitable for all children, but accompanied by a parent/adult.  This is timed so that you can still join in if attending the kid’s dance classes over in the Dance Space. Drop-in.  (Saturday family workshops will continue each Saturday.)

12 – 2pm: THIS MESS IS A PLACE
Zoe Mendelson will be occupying Studio4 for a special showing of her work titled This Mess is a Place.  This is a Wellcome Trust funded project in association with Artsadmin and examines the psychopathology of Hoarding.  It includes a publication, a novel in progress and visual art works.

2pm:  THE TABLE OF LESS VALUED KNIGHTS
Author Marie Phillips will be reading from her new novel which is called The Table of Less Valued Knights.

2.30-4.30 pm: CLOUD STUDIES
Artist Diane Martin will be helping us see the clouds – if there are any! Using different drawing materials and washes of poster colours, this drop-in session is suitable for everyone (children with an adult/parent please).

4.30-6pm: NEURO DISCO DRAFT MODEL B
No, we’ve no idea either but Joey Ryken’s disco promises karaoke with some unusual twists! You’ll have to join in to find out…

Also, Haydn Jones will have have his studio 17B open all day 12-6pm.
Ever wondered what artists do in their studios all day? Haydn will be happy be show you what he does.

Sunday 5th October

12noon – 3pm: PHOTO IMAGING WORKSHOPS
Join Kate Hardy and Elisavet Kalpaxi for two different but connected image making workshops.  On the patio, Kate will be showing us how to use the light of the sun to make images as it travels over the afternoon.  Inside, Elisavet will be turning off the lights to make photograms.  Photography…but not a camera in sight.  Suitable for all ages, drop-in.

3.00 -4.00: SUPER HERO DRAWING WORKSHOP
Illustrator Evie Fridel will help participants discover their super alter ego and learn how to creative narrative in comics.  Suitable for all ages and drawing abilities – and you are never to old to learn how to find your super alter ego! (children accompanied by adult please)

4.00 – 5.00: CONTINUE WITH SUN PRINTING
Collect remaining photograms and a chance to see what another hour in the sun has done to our outdoor prints.
