Elliot Buchanan is a London-based artist working with sound to examine the complexities of the human condition. Utilising listening and sound-making as investigative methods, his practice explores how sonic materiality articulates social relations through spatiotemporal entanglements. In following sonic traces, resonances and echoes, he questions normative beliefs and hegemonic structures in order to highlight injustice and consider countercultural modes of becoming.

Buchanan will be undertaking a residency at Chisenhale Studios’ Studio 4 from 27th May to the 7th July 2024.

During his residency at Chisenhale Art Place, he will be exploring the political potential of communal sound-making and listening through working with the local community to amplify marginalised voices and consider radical forms of protest through sound arts practice.
