Tuesday the 23rd of March 6-7pm
Join the Into The Wild 2020 cohort to launch their collaborative postal publication, Wild Letter. These letters began as a tangible way for the group to stay connected, sharing ideas – images – writings – feelings – materials – instructions -prompts – scraps or things, and reflecting on what they’ve learnt together over the last year.
The Wild Letter has travelled the length of the UK: Bristol – Leeds – Manchester – London – Sheffield & The Hebrides – as each of artist has responded and posted it onto the next, keeping fingers crossed that it would get there in one piece. The Wild Letter has been carefully assembled into a publication and edited by ITW Artist Interpreter Esther McManus and coordinated by ITW Artist Facilitator Sophie Chapman.
At this event, Into The Wild artists will be sharing the project and its journey by reading/reflecting on some of the publication entries: a collaboration with queen Lizzy, questions, games, tasks, knots, stories, poems and why rocks win over scissors! As well as guiding you through making your own wild letter to post between friends and family.
Everyone that attends will also be sent a free black and white “print your own” version of the publication with instructions so you can print and bind your own copies at home!
