Chisenhale Studios is pleased to announce the 14 artists selected for Into the Wild 2019:

Alex Harding (Wimbledon), Anya Stewart Maggs (Leeds), Augusto Cascales (Goldsmiths), Fergus Carmichael (Newcastle), Frances Gibson (Central St Martins), Jennifer Milner-Lunt (Goldsmiths), Luke Bacon (Westminster), Matt Feldman (Goldsmiths), Misha Farrant (Goldsmiths), Molly Gough (Central St Martins), Polly Alexander (Brighton), Rufus Rock (Ruskin), Ted Le Swer (Chelsea), Ufuoma Essi (UCL).

The group were selected by a panel of judges including artists Iain Hales, Sarah Kate Wilson and Louise Ashcroft (ITW Programme Leader), and our Artist Development Coordinator Rosie Hermon.

The programme kicks off in late January with a 2-day intensive during which participants will get to know one another’s practices and collectively influence the design of the 10-week taught course which commences the following week.

Later in the year the group will carry out individual research projects in association with external organisations, host events and an exhibition, and take part in a mentoring programme led by emerging curators Clementine Proby and Lucy Cowling students of the Goldsmiths MFA in Curating.

Now in its fifth year, this ambitious programme develops artists’ practices and careers during the challenging period after undergraduate study.

The programme is funded by Arts Council England and Chisenhale Art Place.
