Into the Wild is a free professional development programme for 14 selected recent BA graduates, designed and taught by Chisenhale Studio artists alongside a team of successful visiting artists and curators. It aims to offer support and inspiration to artists in the early stages of their career and in need of practical advice on how to survive and thrive in the real world as an artist. Participating artists attend an 8-week taught course (1 full day per week) covering practical subjects such as audience development, fundraising and ways of working. This is followed by a three month group studio residency to develop collaborative and independent work, test ideas and share processes through public events.
They additionally receive mentoring, curatorial and practical support to develop new opportunities to present work and reach new audiences. We are fortunate to have two emerging curators joining the team: Bar Yerushalmi and Emma Warburton.
