Our studios range in size from 350 sq ft to nearly 1300 sq ft. (The average is about 500 sq ft).  As an arts education charity, Chisenhale Art Place is able to offer the studios to artists who seek to actively contribute to the organisation’s public benefit and who are in need of secure, affordable space to excel in their own practice.

As demand for affordable studios in London is at an all time high, we ask all potential applicants to join our Studio Notifications mailing list so that we can best manage the volume of enquiries.  Every artist is welcome to join the list, and we particularly encourage more Black, Asian and minority ethnic artists to sign-up. Just make sure you’re on the list at the time a vacancy is advertised to be eligible to apply.  We do this to promote fairness of opportunity for each vacancy, inviting applications which go through an artist-led selection process.  Successful applicants will be those that demonstrate how they meet our criteria, whose practice best suits the specs of the available studio and who possess a genuine willingness to be a part of our mutually supportive community.  Please note that the majority of our studios are accessed via a staircase to each of three floors, with no lift available.  Providing step-free access will be a priority in any future building development.
